Struggling for content ideas?
Frantically typing prompts into AI for advice on marketing creativity?
We’ve got you, fear not.
Staying inspired can be tricky! To help you, here are five ideas to boost the entertainment value of your content 👇🏼
Take photos of day to day life in the office
Stock photography has got to go. Safe to say we are NOT fans here 😅
Nothing connects better than photos of your team at work. A quick tidy up and a 10 minute warning is all you need to snap what your team get up to day-to-day.
This type of photography is brilliant for introducing your team and highlighting the personality in your business. Grab attention on social media, stand out to clients when pitching or running workshop, allow people to get to know you on your website. The uses of real team photography are endless.
So, who’s the most confident photographer in your team? 💭 Off you go!
Go old-school with techniques you've never tried before
When people think of marketing, one of their first thoughts is social media.
And yes, whilst social media has its place - it’s not the only option. Think about how you can use more traditional marketing strategies to capture the attention of your audience.
- Badass business cards that people want to keep - we’re talking high quality sh*t 👌🏼
- Showstopping print campaigns that get people talking
- Bold billboard coverage in areas where your customer base lives
- Personalised direct mail that people will remember
Is their a channel that your audience consume that you aren’t tapping into?
How can you creatively share your message there in a way that they will remember?
Remember, the trick here is NOT to do what you’ve always done. Take the opportunity to experiment.
Entertain with your email marketing content
Read the last email you sent to your customers/clients/fans. Is it entertaining, educational, or inspiring? Once you’ve decided which one it is, rank it out of 10 for that purpose (7/10 entertaining as an example) Then think about, how you could get it to a 10? What’s missing?
Yes, consistency is key but consistency doesn't mean the SAME 😂
Try introducing humour into your copy, GIPHs into your visual style, and use storytelling to get the message across. The ultimate goal is that you audience anticipate opening your email. Are they curious about what’s inside or are you sending them to sleep?
Share fun facts about your team on social media
Rather than the classic “Introducing our latest design guru, Dave” posts, look at ways people can get to know your team through your content. Ask your team to email you with fun things you might not know about them and create a series around fun facts. If they’re struggling, try sending them a few questions:
…what did they want to be when they were little?
…what is their favourite hobby?
…who is the nicest celebrity they’ve met?
You get the idea!
Get one of your team to write a blog on their specialist subject
You hired your team for a reason right? Their specialists in their field, skilled individuals, and an absolute hoot to be around obviously 😉Ask them to put blogs together about regularly asked questions or favourite area of their work. This will give you a variety of content to share on your blog and across your socials, it also shows off the skillset of your team. And who doesn’t want to show of their team’s expertise while also creating versatile content?
A blog can quickly be adapted to a newsletter, carousel posts, a script for a short video, or even a podcast script for the future.
Reading this and thinking, “that’s great, but how do I do all of that?!” 🙈
